Autumn, without the obvious references.
For Shannon and Nick's wedding at Ty Glyn in Ciliau Aeron, the season was interpreted through texture, depth and a rather different approach to colour. Deep burgundy, muted mauves and dusty blush were layered with rich caramels and chocolate browns, creating an autumnal palette that deliberately avoided the expected burnt oranges.
The venue's exposed stone and natural timber provided a beautiful contrast to the softness of the floral design. Abundant, loosely structured arrangements framed the ceremony, lined the aisle and brought height and movement to the reception. Across the tables, gathered fabrics, sculptural tableware and delicate satin ribbons introduced another layer of texture, with each detail considered as part of the wider setting.
What defined this wedding was the relationship between the materials and their surroundings. The richness of the florals against pale stone, the warmth of chocolate brown fabrics against crisp ivory linens, and the contrast between organic arrangements and more structured decorative elements. Nothing felt overly coordinated, yet everything belonged together.
The result was a celebration that captured the character of autumn without leaning on its familiar conventions. Rich in colour, generous in texture and quietly romantic, with the architecture of Ty Glyn providing as much of the atmosphere as the styling itself.
